Morse Desk
How to play
Start: Open the game. Read the welcome, then choose Start at the desk.
The desk
- The chart on the left is the Morse alphabet and numbers. Hide or show it with the small tab.
- The top sheet is the incoming message.
- The telegram card is where your answer is written. A short line on the card tells you what to do.
- Enter Code is the telegraph key. Tap it for a short signal. Hold it for a long one. The spacebar does the same thing.
- Hear it is the sounder. Tap it to play the message again.
What to do
- Type the message you see. Read the Morse on the incoming sheet. Type the letters on the keyboard.
- Tap the key to send this message. The incoming sheet shows letters. Send each one with short and long taps.
- Type the message you hear. The incoming sheet is blank. Listen, then type the letters. Tap Hear it if you missed it.
- Hold the key to match each mark. Timing practice. Fill each short or long mark by holding the key.
Backspace erases. A wrong letter or a wrong tap shakes the card. Get the whole message right to finish the word.
Practice list
You start with Read. Other items unlock as you finish words. Once a skill is open, you can check or uncheck it.
- Read — decode Morse you see
- Send — tap Morse on the key
- Hear — decode Morse you hear
- Longer words — longer practice words
- Sentences — short sentences
- Numbers — mix in digits 0–9. Stays off until you check it.
If no skill is checked, the desk still gives you a Read round.
Ranks
You earn rank from words you finish and from percent correct.
New Clerk → Junior Clerk → Telegraph Clerk → Operator → Senior Operator → Station Chief → Morse Code Master.
Progress is saved in this browser on this device. Clearing site data resets the rank.
